This is the latest piece of evidence that Chronic Fatigue Syndromes (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Postviral Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia and such like) are NOT “psychosomatic” as has been believed for decades, to the dismay of sufferers. In summary, the finding that people with chronic fatigue have DNA mutations, which predispose then to defective detoxification, infections and neuro-inflammation, is confirmed in this study. Whilst “a causal link has not been possible to establish”, this is yet another sample of physical evidence that problems are linked to one’s cell physiology, not psychology!

Unfortunately, the Medical profession still remain oblivious to common factors in the environment and our day to day habits, purely because of the long standing fixation on clinical/laboratory investigations, which often show “nothing”! i.e. the absence of evidence is used as evidence of absence.

No wonder, the incidence of most chronic conditions (so-called “auto-immune”) has been rising sharply for decades, while we are observing the public health authorities, looking on in resignation, making no attempts to investigate the matter in an unbiased, thorough manner. A simple explanation: “Scientific, evidence based Medicine, places scientific purity, above patients’ priorities, ie their health and wellbeing”.
